If you’re reading this review then you are seriously thinking about booking a photography holiday to Iceland I would urge you to look no further and travel with Click Click travel.
If you are like me then you would have your reservations about such a holiday, having heard from others who have travelled on photography holidays. I do not take kindly to being told what to do, where to go, where to stand or what to shoot as with other providers of these holidays. This certainly is not the case when you travel with Click Click Travel.
My fears did not materialise on this trip to Iceland and whatever you experience in photography Matt and Andreea met you where you were and developed your craft.
Matt and Andreea were extremely patient and explaining how a camera works to someone new to photography as they were discussing philosophies of photography to those who are far more advanced.
Being based in Reykjavík we travelled daily to different locations on the south coast of Iceland and had opportunities to photograph the marvellous and fascinating countryside.
The holiday is totally photography focused as typified when travelling towards the black church the light suddenly became amazing. As everyone in the minibus realised this Matt had already pre-empted the light and stopped the minibus so that we could take advantage of this wonderful winter light. This is just one small example of how Matt and Andreea are totally focused on the needs of the group.
Whilst the scenery in Iceland speaks for itself Matt and Andreea constantly push the boundaries of you photography, challenging you to find a different angle, a different perspective and interpretation of those iconic views.They constantly try develop you as a photographer, from where ever you start, and are not just satisfied with you coming home with a bag full of amazing images.
The acid test to any review is the answer to the question ‘would I travel again with with that provider?'. Well my answer is a resounding yes. I can’t wait to book my next adventure with Click Click Travel and hope very much to see you there.
VENICE 2022
This is my second trip with Click Click travel and I can honestly say it did not disappoint.
Venice had been on my bucket list for an extremely long time and therefore my expectation of the City and the trip was incredibly high. This trip more than met my high demands. Staying in a very central location just off St. Mark’s Square put us in the ideal location for exploring Venice and the surrounding islands. Ample opportunity was given photographing the structures and canal ways of Venice at various times of the day and also the contrasting architecture of the islands surrounding.
The added advantage of this particular trip was that it took place at the end of the carnival season and all the amazing costumes you see in Venice this time of year. The highlight for me of this trip though was the fact that Andrea and Matt had the foresight to take their own model, Livi, allowing two focused photo shoots to take place with her.
The first in carnival attire which was taken around the quieter areas of Venice, away from the hordes at St. Mark’s Square. The second was a dance shoot at the church on Torcello Island. This shot was in the late afternoon was a truly memorable experience and could not help to take superb images. Livi was an exceptional model and a superb dancer and and added to the overall experience.
Once again whatever your experience level Matt and Andreea carefully and sensitively guide you as you develop your own photography style challenging you take the next step in you photography journey, if that is what you want.. Travelling with Click Click travel takes away the need to do extensive research before visiting the locations but allows you the scope and flexibility for you to capture your own images, through your camera lens, being able to describe the places that you visit in your own style with as much or as little input from Matt and Andreea as you ask for.
